The Green Transition demands more than new technology โ it demands new talent. The kind of talent that grows up thinking about sustainability not as a trend, but as a mission.
Our member Port Esbjerg is leading by example. Their Innovation Hub, housed in the iconic Fish Warehouse (Fiskepakhuset), shares its space with GenIn (Generation Innovation) โ a private non-profit that brings students from primary school face to face with real sustainability challenges from local companies: coastal protection, marine biodiversity, responsible consumption, and more. Nearly 2,000 students walk through those doors every year.
The philosophy behind it is simple and powerful: with significant workforce growth needed at the port each year, investing in the next generation isn't optional โ it's strategic. The "green change agents" of tomorrow need to be part of the ecosystem today.
Because innovation doesn't happen in isolation. It happens when business, education and community share the same space โ and the same ambition. ๐ก
